Joyce A. Felix, recently of Lindale, Texas, died in Tyler, Texas, Aug. 3, 2018, at the age of 83.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Olathe Cemetery.
Mrs. Felix was born in Cottonwood, Ariz., July 12, 1935, to Thomas and Amanda (Hicklin) Simon. When she was in grade school, her mother and a sister moved from Murray, Utah, to Montrose.
In 1955, she married Eldon Felix in Aztec, N.M. He died on Jan. 7, 2008, after 52 years of marriage.
Mrs. Felix enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, hunting, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed canning, sewing, crafts, genealogy, golf and playing softball. She retired from Montrose County School District as secretary of Olathe Junior High School.
She is survived by her three children, Joy Lake of Gore, Okla., Vickie Slade of Lafayette and Ken Felix of Tyler, Texas; six grandchildren, Kimberly Thorton, Spencer Lake, Robyn Shaw, Sean Slade, Kurt Felix and Beth Davis; and nine great-grandchildren.
