Crawford resident Julieanne Marquez died July 25, 2018, in San Diego, Calif. She was 39.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at First Baptist Church in Hotchkiss, with Pastor Jake DeField officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford.
Mrs. Marquez was born April 27, 1979, in Grants, N.M., to David and Sissy (Rose) Esquibel. She spent her childhood in Grants and in Paonia. She graduated from Paonia High School in 1997 and attended Mesa State.
On Sept. 15, 2001, she married Anthony Marquez in Paonia.
When she was younger, Mrs. Marquez was involved with youth groups and women's ministries. She enjoyed helping others, working in the church and locating free prom dresses for those who needed them.
She is survived by her parents, David and Sissy Esquibel of Paonia; husband, Anthony Marquez of Crawford; three daughters, Mary Esquibel, Hosanna Marquez and Victoria Marquez, all of Crawford; and one sister, Coleen Esquibel of Paonia.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Esquibel.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
