National FFA Week happens Feb. 17-24. To celebrate the organization's past, present and future accomplishments, chapters across the nation are gearing up for a week of activities. Because it falls during the week of winter break, Olathe, Delta, Cedaredge and Hotchkiss high school chapters will celebrate FFA Week Feb. 24-March 3.
From pancakes to lamb fajitas to barbecue, the Cedaredge FFA Chapter knows how to turn out huge quantities of tasty food. The students enhanced Homecoming festivities with a tailgate party featuring lamb and beef from Homestead Meats, slowroasted pork, Mountain Fresh corn, apples from Fritchman orchards, beans, dinner rolls and ice cream.
Welcome to the 2017- 2018 school year! The Cedaredge FFA chapter participated in many activities and events throughout the summer.
Hotchkiss FFA Alumni vice president Jason Wrich awarded scholarships to two outstanding 2017 seniors. Lacey Rodriguez and Roggen Frick were awarded the Hotchkiss FFA Alumni Scholarship for $500 each and the Mopar Alumni Scholarship for $300 each.
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors/donors, 1,883 scholarships were awarded through the National FFA organization's scholarship program.
Local Build Ford Tough recipients include Tory Wilson, Cedaredge High School; Alexeea Wilson, Cedaredge High School; and Lacey Rodriguez, Hotchkiss High School.
In support of the next generation of agricultural leaders, Tractor Supply Company and the National FFA Foundation partnered for the second consecutive year to back student-driven agriculture projects that will benefit Colorado communities and FFA chapters for years to come.
FFA chapters in Cedaredge, Delta, Hotchkiss and Olathe will celebrate National FFA Week Feb. 18-25. This year's theme is "Transform Purpose to Action," embracing more than 89 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization's future.

Olathe FFA has been busy this year with many community service projects and competitions. In October, the floriculture team traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., as the Colorado representative for the National FFA Convention and to compete against 50 other teams from around the country.
The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity for the Delta FFA chapter. The year started with county fair.
With spring around the corner, Cedaredge FFA members would like to reflect on the busy activities that took place throughout the fall and winter seasons. The chapter has provided opportunities for students to attend shows, conventions and community service projects.
As the end of the year draws closer every day, the Hotchkiss FFA Chapter is looking forward to celebrating our organization during National FFA Week. This special week is an opportunity for FFA members, alumni and sponsors to advocate for agricultural education and FFA.
The Delta High School FFA chapter attended the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver last week. It was all fun and games with a little work thrown in for good measure.
The Hotchkiss FFA Alumni is supported by the Colorado FFA Alumni and the National FFA Alumni in their vision of students whose lives are impacted by FFA and agricultural education will achieve academic and personal growth, strengthen American agriculture and provide leadership to build healthy local communities, a strong nation and a sustainable world.
For the third year, Tractor Supply Company is partnering with the National FFA Foundation to produce limited edition, long-sleeved shirts for the National FFA Convention & Expo, which are now available exclusively in Tractor Supply stores. All net proceeds from sales of the shirts benefit FFA by supporting the National FFA Alumni Association and Living to Serve platform.
This summer was a very eventful time for the Hotchkiss FFA Chapter under Coley Wondra, with State FFA Convention in June, Washington Leadership Conference in July, and the Delta County Fair in August.
The Colorado state convention this year was held in Sterling and the chapter had over 20 members in attendance.
Welcome back to school! Cedaredge FFA chapter has been busy over the summer.
The 2016 Junior Market Livestock Sale is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the fairgrounds in Hotchkiss. Plan to attend and support the efforts of area 4-H and FFA youth by purchasing quality market livestock animals over the auction block.
Brother and sister Ryan and Rachel Latta of Cedaredge are building on the learning experience they began in the Future Farmers of America chapter at Cedaredge High School. They have both taken on the responsibility of serving as officers in the state Future Farmers of America organization.
For the past several months, the Hotchkiss FFA chapter has been practicing the career development experience (CDE) of livestock judging or livestock evaluation. Team members Trenton Carr, Colton Peebles, Hailey Lofley, Morgan Miller, Ruby Shiflet, Bruce Turnbull and Dalton Raley met once a week in the Hotchkiss ag room to practice.
Tractor Supply Company, in partnership with the National FFA Foundation, is excited to announce that six Colorado FFA chapters have been selected to receive grant funding as a part of the "Grants for Growing" program. The Cedaredge FFA chapter is one of the six recipients.
Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. The week-long tradition began in 1947 when the national FFA board of directors designated the week of George Washington's birthday as National FFA Week in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer.
As I look back at 2015, Olathe FFA has had a huge year! It is important for our members to be goal oriented and strive for success in all that we do. With this in mind, I will recap some of the larger accomplishments, various trips, and community involvement.
It's a busy week at Delta High School, where FFA students are dressing up to highlight the importance of agriculture and FFA to their lives. Monday was Hat Day, and on Tuesday students wore camo for "Hunting for Leaders" Day.
Cedaredge FFA started the school year with a flurry of events. In August we sent eight students to show fruit and other produce at the Colorado State Fair.
This has been a great year for the Hotchkiss FFA chapter. We started off the year Sept. 14 with a family barbecue meeting which was a great opportunity for all members and parents to get together and spend quality time with each other and prepare for the upcoming events while enjoying well-prepared food.
Hotchkiss High School Future Farmers of America member Dalton Raley will be able to purchase a heifer for his beef breeding program after being awarded a $1,500 Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) grant from the Colorado Elks Association as part of the FFA Heifer Wrangle Program. Raley was awarded the grant during the 2016 National Western Stock Show in Denver.
