The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia in conjunction with Sacred Heart Church in Hotchkiss have recently formed a new Knights of Columbus Council #16769. A ceremony to formally install new officers will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.
The Knights of Columbus is taking its popular and successful ultrasound program to the next level with the goal of saving one million unborn lives with the help of technology that helps mothers to choose life over abortion.
Since 2009, Knights at the state and local levels have partnered with the Supreme Council in New Haven, Conn., to fund ultrasound machines for pregnancy care centers.
The streets of Paonia will look a little nicer this summer, thanks to the efforts of a small group of volunteers. On May 19, members of the Knights of Columbus from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia and St. Margaret Mary Church in Hotchkiss spent the evening hours clearing debris from the curbs of several of the town's streets.
