On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
At their meeting Nov. 20, Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes heard three hours of presentation and citizen response regarding a land use change application requested by Paonia Holdings, LLC.
Paonia Holdings, LLC submitted the request under the Delta County Specific Development Regulations.
The land use change application being considered at next Monday's meeting of the Delta County Board of County Commissioners has resulted in dozens of public comments, numerous meetings, a petition signed by more than 400 individuals, and some confusion.
The application, submitted by Mark Levin with Paonia Holdings, LLC, requests a land use change to light industrial/commercial under Delta County's Specific Development Regulations (SDR) on land located just north of Paonia on Highway 133.
The Delta County Planning Department announced that the joint meeting of the Upper North Fork Area Planning Advisory Committee and the Delta County Planning Commission to hear comments on a land use change application by Paonia Holdings, LLC, and representative Mark Levin has been rescheduled to June 21, at Paonia Town Hall.
A joint meeting of the Delta County Planning and Zoning Commission and Upper North Fork Area Planning Committee to hear comments regarding a land use change application at a former coal load-out near Paonia was rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Paonia Town Hall.
An on-site meeting for "ancillary property" located on Stevens Gulch Road was also rescheduled for 3 p.m. this Friday, May 19, at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
Public comments on a proposed development northeast of Paonia were extended to May 5 after citizens complained that they were not given enough time to research the proposal.
Paonia Holdings, LLC, has applied to Delta County for approval of a land use change on commercial and light industrial property located at 41322 and 41402 Hwy. 133, and ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
