Falon Kaufman, the woman reported missing in last week's DCI, has been found, Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee confirms.
A Facebook post on the Cedaredge Message Board thanked all who offered assistance during the search. The post explains:
"Falon's car high centered on a jeep road after she got lost on the mesas around Cedaredge while trying to find her way home. She found shelter in a hunting cabin and stayed, hoping that someone would show up there. She had injured her knee and waited for it to heal a little before deciding to walk out and find a road.
"A gentleman picked her up and took her to the Silt police station. We reunited with her a few hours later and she is now resting at home with her two daughters.
"The overwhelming caring and support during this trying time for the family has been a huge help."
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
