TADA! Your Art Space, a new art gallery in Delta, will hold its grand opening on Friday. The gallery exhibits original art and photography by Colorado's West Slope artists.
TADA art gallery owners Fred Honchell, Ann Barker and David Delo will host a grand opening and reception at 459 Main Street from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27.
The new gallery fills a long-standing need to exhibit art and photography to local artists who would otherwise be forced to travel to Montrose or Grand Junction to seek exposure for their work.
"This is a marvelous opportunity for artists and art collectors in Delta," said Delo. "In addition to exhibiting local art, the gallery has potential to offer classes in painting, creative writing and photography. There is something for everyone at our gallery, at prices from $100 to more than $2,000."
Delta residents Fred Honchell and David Delo have both been successful artists for several decades and have won prizes at exhibits in Ouray, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Montrose and Delta. Barker, who has been a gallery owner and event coordinator in Delta, brings necessary business acumen.
Together, they recognize the extraordinary amount of artistic talent in Delta and surrounding community, and have championed the effort to showcase this talent and have the arts accepted and appreciated in Delta.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
