The Paonia girls are now 5-2 in the 2A/1A Western Slope conference and 9-5 overall. On Jan. 23, Paonia played to a 43-21 non-conference loss at Grand Valley (8-4 overall, 2-1, 3A WSL). On Friday night, the Eagles lost a conference battle at Vail Christian by a score of 44-32.
On Saturday, Paonia defeated the De Beque Dragons (5-6, 1-5), 46-24. Kassidy Rapke led the Eagles in scoring with 10 points. Rapke also scored a team high 12 points against Vail Christian, and against West Grand.
Paonia hosts conference games against North Park (10-4, 3-4) at 5:30 p.m. Friday and West Grand (3-11, 2-3) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
