Paula Strickland of Delta was one of 22 Elmira College students inducted into the Rho Mu Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education during a recent ceremony for outstanding education majors.
During the ceremony, senior members of the honor society were awarded Kappa Delta Pi cords and outstanding education and speech and language disabilities majors completing their junior year, were inducted into the prestigious honor society for educators. The event included a keynote address by Elisabeth Bostwick, award-winning educator, digital innovator, and author.
Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
