The Colorado Association for Recycling (CAFR) announces its 11th annual recycling poster contest. The contest is open to all K-12 students and youth organization members in Colorado. Deadline for entry is April 24.
The contest showcases students' artistic talent and commitment to the environment. One grand-prize winner receives a $100 gift card. Winning artwork will be used in Colorado's 2017 America Recycles Day video and seen throughout the state. Plus, each school with winning entries will receive a free one-year teacher membership to RAFT Colorado.
To download the rules, go to www.cafr.org/events/posterContest.php. Entries will be judged by a panel of industry representatives. Winners will be announced during the first two weeks of May.

Two accidents involving school property are proving costly for Delta County Joint School District, district business manager Jim Ventrello reported last week. Both incidents involved uninsured drivers, forcing the school district to file claims with its insurance provider and pay deductibles of $10,000.
