Deltarado Days is set for July 26-29, with most activities again taking place at Confluence Park this year. Now's the time to register for the parade, glo run, car show, and grass volleyball, pickleball, golf, horseshoe and cornhole tournaments.
The parade takes place Saturday, July 28, and will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Check-in time starts at 8 a.m. in the parking lot at 9th and Grand. The parade route is on Main Street from 9th Street north to 2nd Street.
There is no charge for entries, thanks to Bank of Colorado, the parade sponsor. You do need to register prior to Friday, July 20, however. Any entries received after that date will go to the back of the line!
Floats, car/motorcycle entries, equestrian entries and people walking or riding bikes are all welcome.
Entry forms are available at the chamber office, 301 Main, Delta.
The 4x4 grass volleyball tournament begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Teams of four are encouraged to sign up before Friday, July 20. The registration fee is $100; the tournament format will be decided by the number of teams entering the event, which is sponsored by First State Bank of Colorado.
The format of the cornhole tournament will also be determined by the number of teams entering. Registration is $50 per team and must be received prior to Friday, July 20.
The pickleball tournament will take place at the tennis courts at Confluence Park. Divisions include 3.5 and 4.0 for males and females. Registration is $25 per person.
Naomi's Hope Project is the sponsor of the horseshoe tournament, the only event to be held at Cleland Park. Pre-registration ends July 15, so stop by the chamber office to pick up your registration form today. Your $25 registration fee includes a T-shirt. A late registration fee of $30 will be in effect on the day of the tournament, and there's no guarantee of a T-shirt.
Kids' activities, a vendor village and the Delta Street Rodders' 15th annual car show will all be taking place in Confluence Park Saturday. Registration for the car show is from 7 to 10 a.m.; show hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Don't miss the pre-registration kickoff party at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Butch's Cafe, 1560 S. Main Street. The Delta High School Alumni Association is sponsoring this year's Deltarado Days Golf Scramble hosted by Devil's Thumb Golf Club. Players will begin their quest for bragging rights and a variety of prizes Sunday, July 29, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m.
Play format is a scramble with four-man teams ($65 each player) vying for top honors. Registrations are to be concluded by July 26. Call Dwain Bush at 970-209-1530 or Ken Brown at Devil's Thumb, 970-874-6262, to reserve a spot.
New this year is the fun glo run, with two courses to choose from Thursday, July 26, at Confluence Park. Participants can run either a one-mile or a three-mile course, and start any time between 7 and 8 p.m. There is no charge for this event, which will take place after the Altrusa kick-off dinner and prior to the movie in the park sponsored by Grace Church.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
