Eckert resident Ruth Hendrickson died March 21, 2018, at her daughter's home in Cedaredge. She was 93.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 4, at 1 p.m. at the Stolte Shed in Pioneer Town in Cedaredge.
Ruth Ionne Davison was born July 3, 1924, to Thomas and Fay (Davis) Davison in Independence, Mo. She spent her childhood and attended school in Oklahoma and then moved to Cedaredge in her early teens. She attended school in Cedaredge.
On July 21, 1947, she married Verne R. Hendrickson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They shared 30 years of marriage before his death on Feb. 9, 1978.
On July 25, 1986, she married Joseph Pfeifer in Delta. They shared 18 years of marriage until his death on Jan. 11, 2005.
Mrs. Hendrickson worked at Ogden Air Technical Service Command at Hill Field, Utah. She then worked at the ASCS office in Delta.
She was an avid member of the Rebekah and Odd Fellows lodges and a Theta Rho advisor. She was also a 4-H leader and active PTA member. She enjoyed many kinds of crafts, crocheting, sewing and fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Roxie (Bob) Morris of Cedaredge; grandchildren, Chad (Kirstan) Morris of Fort Collins and Loree (Manuel) Gutierrez of Cedaredge; and great-grandchildren, Deven and Bree Gutierrez and Ashley and Justin Morris.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; sisters, Lorene Davison and Norma Reaveley; and great-granddaughter, Megan Gutierrez.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
Delta Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) will be holding its annual fireworks show at Confluence Park on Wednesday, July 4, having received approval from Delta City Council at the council's June 5 meeting.
The DVFD has 28 volunteers and expects to have eight to 10 firefighters from Cedaredge join them this year.
