Western yellow-billed cuckoo found nesting in Delta County

The western yellow-billed cuckoo, one of the rarest birds in Colorado, is now the subject of a longterm study to determine how many pairs of birds might be breeding in this area. The study is being conducted by local birding expert Jason Beason of the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies.

Archaeologist to discuss wickiups

The archaeology of the Ute Indians and their final years in western Colorado will be presented by Curtis Martin at the Delta Library Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m.

Martin's wickiup project won the Governor's Award for Historic Preservation in 2014.

Citizens organize town hall

Grand Mesa Indivisible, We the People of the North Fork Valley and Indivisible Delta County have organized a constituent town hall meeting Saturday, Feb. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Paradise Theatre, 215 Grand Avenue, Paonia.
