The first fundraiser concert to benefit Arts Coalition of Delta County has been announced. The "three-in-one" concert will feature three different artists from three different genres. The concert will be held at the Delta Performing Arts Center, 822 Grand Avenue, on Saturday, June 3, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $25 at the door or $20 in advance.
The concert features David Starr, who is touring the U.S. and has just released a new CD. Carissa Scroggins, soprano soloist, will be the second artist. She will perform opera favorites and musical show tunes. Scroggins has been a resident of Cedaredge for just a few months. The third artist is Dennis Jernigan, based out of Oklahoma. He is a singer, composer and evangelist who is no stranger to the Western Slope. He has composed a huge number of Christian songs and has many recordings available.
Several other concerts are being planned for the Arts Coalition of Delta County.
Tickets may be purchased by calling 970-835-3329 or will be available at several locations to be announced.
Thanks to the efforts of state Rep. Millie Hamner, House District 61, Colorado State University plans to re-open the Rogers Mesa research site.
The facility was taken out of operation in 2011, due to budget cuts throughout the CSU system.
