This year's Delta High School Football Scramble attracted 20 teams. With the help of Mother Nature there was plenty of optimum sunshine as players chased dimpled spheroids on a four-plus mile journey around Devil's Thumb Golf Course last Saturday.
Some teams traversed the course in relatively normal times while others may have stayed longer than intended as they pursued the sometimes elusive ball for 18 holes of play.
Winning this year's top honors with a score of 51 was the team of KC Carlson, Kevin Carlson, Andy Braslin and Matt Bohling. The win was not a runaway as the tournament's second-place team (Josh Applegate, Joppa Smith, Zach Larson and Jeremy Lambert) carded a 52.
