Delta's Lee Marts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxiliary are hosting their 5th annual golf tournament at Devil's Thumb on May 20, which is also Armed Forces Day.
The tournament is a fundraiser for the Post and Auxiliary's project to build a Veterans' and Family Center in North Delta.
Organizers said there will be a ride-in by members of the American Legion Riders motorcycle group. Color guard will be officated by the Delta High School Junior R.O.T.C squadron.
The golf tournament will have a shotgun start at around 9 a.m. and those who need to register on that morning need to arrive early.
Cost to participate is $280 per foursome or $70 for an individual, and the price includes lunch.
Call 872-3327 to register.
Thanks to the efforts of state Rep. Millie Hamner, House District 61, Colorado State University plans to re-open the Rogers Mesa research site.
The facility was taken out of operation in 2011, due to budget cuts throughout the CSU system.
