Volunteers are still needed for Applefest

The 41st annual Applefest launches this weekend and the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce still needs volunteers to help the giant event run smoothly. Those wishing to assist should contact the chamber now by calling 970-596-6961 or sending an email to Cedaredgeareachamber@gmail.com. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts to help with the following activities:

Friday, Oct. 5 -- Vendor check-in between noon-4 p.m.; rodeo concessions between 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 6 -- Cedaredge Elementary parking attendant between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; chamber booth between 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 7 -- Cedaredge Elementary parking attendant between 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; chamber booth between 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Chili Cook-off

Volunteers are also needed to provide chili to serve the crowd at the 17th annual Five Alarm Chili Cook-off fundraiser to benefit the Cedaredge Volunteer Fire Department. Bring donated chili in its own heating unit to the fire house between 2:30 and 4 p.m. on Thursday. The fire station is located at the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and South Grand Mesa Drive.
