The Bookcliff, Mount Sopris and South Side conservation districts will host "Water Law in a Nutshell," from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Avenue.
The seminar covers law related to water rights and ditch rights, including appropriation, perfection, use, limitations, attributes, abandonment, and enforcement of various types of water rights.
Seminar presenter Aaron Clay is an attorney at law. Clay grew up in Hotchkiss and was referee for the Colorado Court, Division 4 (Montrose) from 1982-2008.
